Removing Barriers to Timely Mental Health Care
Ridgeview introduces walk-in clinic hours in Oneida
Oneida, TN - Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services announces the introduction of a Walk-In Clinic at its Scott County office at 133 W. 2nd Avenue in Oneida. The Walk-In Clinic enables access to mental health care immediately and eliminates delays associated with having to schedule an appointment for an intake.
Oneida walk-in clinic hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. weekdays. Individuals can walk in and meet with a clinician for an initial evaluation without an appointment.
“It is critical to provide timely access to behavioral health services for individuals in need,” said Brian Buuck, Ridgeview CEO. “A recent report from US Department of Health and Human Services states that social stigma continues to surround mental health disorders and mental health care is frequently difficult to access,” he added.
“It’s important to address the social stigma surrounding mental health care and remove barriers to timely accessibility to services,” Buuck said. “The Walk-In Clinic is a big step in the right direction.” Reggie Butler, Scott County Outpatient Facility Coordinator, noted that the Walk-In Clinic builds on the principle of consumer need and preferences by providing individuals and families greater control and choice in their care and treatment.
“This is good news for our community and for those who are trying to locate timely access to behavioral health services,” Butler explained. “The elimination of barriers associated with waiting lists is a key advancement to building a healthier community and ultimately improving substance abuse services, mental health outcomes and overall well-being.”
Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services will continue regular office hours from 8 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. weekdays for scheduled appointments at the Oneida office, 423-569-7979.
