Peer Support Centers
The Peer Support Center is a safe, friendly place where consumers of mental health services can gather to make friends and enjoy recreational and educational opportunities planned by the consumers themselves.
Three primary goals of the Peer Support Centers are as follows:
- To provide a place to socialize in a safe environment
- To give mental health consumers ways to learn about their illness and encourage recovery in a safe and friendly atmosphere.
- To give members emotional support, and support each person's mental health recovery.
The Peer Support Centers are open to all mental health consumers and have no membership fee. Membership and transportation are free, with transportation provided to the centers and to all activities.
