Ridgeview receives TAMHO Awards
Oak Ridge, TN – Tennessee Association of Mental Health Organization’s (TAMHO) highest honors were recently bestowed at the TAMHO Conference and Awards Ceremony in Murfreesboro, TN. Ridgeview’s Program Manager for Substance Use Services, Melody Morris, received the TAMHO Emerging Leader Award and the Ridgeview POD, a video podcast hosted on Ridgeview’s YouTube Channel, received the Outreach and Engagement Award.
Ms. Morris’s award honors individuals who provide both exemplary leadership and direct services to clients. It recognizes how her contributions continue to benefit the community through client care. This award acknowledges and celebrates individuals striving to grow professionally while continuing to impact those in need of care.
Upon receiving the award, Morris acknowledged, “I am humbled and honored to receive this award. I am inspired daily by the dedicated commitment of my staff to help people living with addiction begin their recovery. I’ve always said my passion is people, so whether I’m helping develop staff and programming or working directly with the clients, people make the difference.”
The Outreach and Engagement award honors organizations for the development, implementation, and continuation of innovative and creative methods to deliver behavioral health services in their community. Michael Yates, host of the podcast, reported, “Ridgeview took a courageous step by developing a new way to connect with consumers of our services and to involve our community partners in the overall recovery effort from the pandemic. The Ridgeview POD has had a positive impact in promoting hope, healing, and recovery and continues to support stigma reduction for community behavioral health services in rural communities.”
